Bradley Noland, North Alabama 2B

By: Dutchmen Front Office

The 5’9” junior transferred to the Division Two powerhouse after playing two years at Northwest Community College. As the team’s starting second baseman, Noland started 91 of his 93 appearances, winning the batting title in 2012 and tying for the title during his freshman campaign in 2011.

During the 2012 season, Noland led the team with a .362 batting average, notching 55 hits, including 10 doubles and three triples, and scoring 42 runs, while compiling 15 multi-hit games and stealing 19 of 24 bases, good for second on the team.  For his efforts, Noland was named to the All-Region and All-State teams and also selected his conference’s MVP.

During the 2011 season, Noland again led the team with a .366 average, clobbering four home runs, two triples, seven doubles, and driving in 28 runs.

The Tennessee native has been hitting consistently in the middle of the Lions lineup this season, batting .316 with 11 RBIs, a .409 on-base percentage, and three stolen bases. If he keeps up this pace, he’s going to become a very valuable asset for the Dutchmen, regardless of where in the field they play him.
