2022 Season Week 3 Players of the Week
Logan Beard (Louisville, ‘21 Dutch)
- Beard caught barrels in the weekend series for Louisville, going 5-10 with eight total RBIs, while also hitting his first two collegiate home runs in the same game he racked up six RBIs.
- Beard is one of three former Dutchmen that rank in the top four for RBIs on Louisville (13).
Jake Defayette (RPI, ‘21 Dutch)
- Defayette helped lead RPI to the weekend sweep, going 4-12 with two doubles, two dingers and two RBIs.
- The Schalmont grad currently leads the Engineers in home runs (3), and total bases (16).
Connor Eisenmann (UAlbany, ‘21 Dutch)
- Eisenmann shoved in the series finale on Sunday, throwing seven innings of one hit ball while punching out seven batters.
- The sophomore has been phenomenal in his first two starts of the season, as he has now thrown back to back one-hit outings, and currently leads the Great Danes with a 0.68 ERA.
Luke Franzoni (Xavier, ‘19 Dutch)
- Franzoni crushed baseballs this week, going 5-15 with four home runs and nine RBIs.
- Franzoni leads his team in home runs (7), and has accounted for half of their total homers (14).
Anthony Germinerio (UAlbany, ‘21 Dutch)
- Germinerio dominated in his Saturday outing, throwing a complete game while holding the opposition to just three hits.
- The Averill Park grad has strung together three very successful outings to kick off the 2022 campaign, as he now holds a 0.95 ERA. and a team leading 19 innings pitched.
Luke Gold (Boston College, ‘19 Dutch)
- Gold racked up multi-hit games in each of his three starts on the week for Boston College, combining to go 8-15 with three doubles and two RBIs.
- The Ballston Spa grad is currently tied for the most doubles at Boston College in 2022 (5).
Jake Manderson (Georgetown College, ‘21 Dutch)
- Manderson was dominant both on the mound and at the plate this week.
- The Ballston Spa grad threw 3.2 hitless innings with nine strikeouts on Friday, and Saturday hit a three run shot in his pinch hit opportunity.
Ben Metzinger (Louisville, ‘19 Dutch)
- Metzinger produced plenty of runs this weekend for Louisville, going 4-12 with two home runs and eight RBIs.
- The senior leads Louisville in RBI (20).
Jacob Steinberg (James Madison, ‘19 Dutch)
- JMU played five games this week, but Steinberg was up for the challenge, going 7-19 with two doubles, a home run and four RBIs on the busy week.
- Steinberg is a key contributor to a lethal JMU lineup, as he is one of seven Dukes hitters that carries a batting average of .300 or higher.
Justin Wright (St. Vincent, ‘18 Dutch)
- Wright started his weekend with a complete game on the mound, going all 7 innings, while allowing 5 hits, 2 earned runs and striking out 6 on Thursday.
- The dominant weekend continued Saturday, this time with the bat, as Wright went 2-3 with a double, triple and four RBIs.
