As a Redshirt Freshman (2021):
Appeared in nine games, including two starts… hit .100 with a home run and two RBIs… scored a pair of runs… struck out six times and drew five walks… walked and scored a run in his collegiate debut against UMass Lowell (Feb. 27)… walked twice and drove in a run against Sacred Heart (March 6)… made his first collegiate start and drew a walk against Xavier (April 9)… launched a solo home run at Creighton for his first collegiate hit (May 1).
As a Freshman (2020):
Did not see game action.
Before College:
A two-year team captain at Massapequa High School… a Newsday All-Long Island selection in 2019 after hitting .431 with five home runs and 29 RBIs... did not allow a passed ball and threw out 10 of a possible 19 base runners... the no. 6 catching recruit in the state of New York according to Perfect Game, the no. 58 recruit in the state overall… helped lead the Chiefs to a 2018 New York State Championship.
Personal:
Nicholas Andrew Schwartz… son of Gina and Jason Schwartz… has two sisters, Kayla and Gianna… chose St. John’s because he wanted to go to a great baseball and academic school close to home… a member of the Principal’s Honors List in high school… lists his dad as the person he admires most and Jose Altuve as his favorite athlete… plans to major in business.
