(AMSTERDAM)-- Albany Dutchmen fell in Amsterdam tonight to the Mohawks by a final score of 8-1. Albany falls to 7-2 on the season, and now sits 1.5 games behind Amsterdam in the East Division.
Dan Keaney (Marist) got the start on the mound and dealt three shutout innings to go with three strikeouts.
Albany was in the game most of the way, as the Dutchmen led 1-0 after five innings from a Ben Lavery (St. John Fisher) RBI double in the 4th that scored Anthony Raimo (Rhode Island). The Dutchmen offense was led by Tyler Young (Lehigh) who had a two-hit night, as well as doubles from Cam Jordan (San Jac), Chance Checca (Herkimer) and the aforementioned Lavery RBI double.
Amsterdam took the lead in a three run sixth inning which was highlighted by three separate RBI singles, before putting it out of reach with a five run eighth inning.
Albany returns to action tomorrow at home, to take on Saugerties Stallions at Keenholts Park for a 6:35 first pitch.
