The Albany Dutchmen (5-10) fell to the Amsterdam Mohawks (15-1) 15-1 on Wednesday at home.
The Mohawks came out hot scoring two runs in the first inning and never looked back. Their biggest scoring inning was the ninth, when they scored seven.
Jackson Smith (Kankakee CC) was the only Dutchmen pitcher to not allow a run. He pitched one inning and struck out two Mohawks batters.
Mario Cubello (St. John Fisher) had the first hit for the Dutchmen with a single in the fourth. The Dutchmen finally had more movement on the base paths in the ninth when JT Vance (Mississippi College) drew a lead off walk. Mike Talavera (HVCC/Uncommitted) later doubled to advance Vance to third, and Vance would score on a wild pitch in the next at-bat.
The Dutchmen have Thursday off before going to Glens Falls on Friday. They then return home to face the Saugerties Stallions for the third time this week at Dutchmen Field on Saturday. Saturday’s game, set for 6:35, will be broadcast live on Facebook Live.
