The Albany Dutchmen of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League have announced their 2015 promotional schedule, headlined by six giveaway nights and three fundraiser games. The season gets underway on Tuesday night at 7:05 in a game against the Elmira Pioneers. The Dutchmen will celebrate opening night with special promotions and giveaways throughout the game.
The first major giveaway comes on Friday, June 5th, when the Dutchmen host the rival Amsterdam Mohawks. The first 500 fans into the ballpark will receive a team magnetic schedule. The next home game, a June 7 tilt against the Mohawks will host the team’s Muscular Dystrophy Association Fundraiser, which will feature a major raffle to raise money for the MDA. The raffle will include a 40-inch HDTV and tickets to a New York Yankees game.
Friday, June 12 will be Sanavi Water Night, as all fans in attendance will receive free water from Sanavi. The Friday night game with the Glens Falls Dragons will feature prize giveaways throughout the night as part of the promotion. The Dutchmen are also pleased to announce the formation of the Subway Summer Series with the Glens Falls Dragons. The winner of the season series between the two teams will receive the Subway Summer Series Trophy at the end of the season.
The Dutchmen will also host a giveaway night sponsored by Albany Clothing and Promotions on June 19, as well as a mini bat giveaway to the first 300 fans sponsored by Martin, Harding & Mazzotti on June 26. The following night is CDTA Kids in Free Night, and Dutchmen drawstring backpacks will be given to the first 250 kids at Bellizzi Field.
In July, the team will honor police officers, firefighters and EMTs with free game tickets on SEFCU Hometown Heroes Night, occurring on the first. The Dutchmen will give out a team poster to the first 250 fans in the park on July 5th, and the team will be available for autographs postgame. Then on July 9th, it will be the team’s Fifth Annual Pink Game for the American Cancer Society and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. A major raffle will be held to raise funds, and the pink jerseys worn by the Dutchmen players will be auctioned off.
Phillips Hardware Night comes on July 10, where over $500 in prizes will be up for grabs. The team’s final fundraiser comes on July 17, as country music star Chelsea Cavanaugh will perform pre game as part of a fundraiser for Maddie’s Mark, an organization dedicated to giving children suffering from major illnesses a “best day ever.”
The regular season home slate comes to an end on July 29 with Fan Appreciation Night.
The Dutchmen will also hold promotions corresponding to each day of the week. All Monday home games will allow kids to eat free with paid admission, while Thursday home games will feature the ever-popular All You Can Eat for $10 promotion. Fridays will be Baseball Bingo Nights, as fans can fill out bingo cards connected with the action on the field to win prizes. Sundays at Bellizzi Field are Family Fundays, where four tickets and four food vouchers will cost $14. Kids will also be given the opportunity to run the bases after the games. There will be frequently rotating concession offerings and a rotating selection of craft beer throughout the summer.
Daily Dutchmen promotions include the Price Chopper $10,000 Pitch, where a lucky fan will get the opportunity to throw a pitch from the mound with a chance to win $10,000. Fans will also partake in the Budweiser K Man promotion, which will provide 2-for-1 drinks when a selected hitter strikes out.
