A packed house saw the Dutchmen and the ValleyCats face off in 2015.
The Albany Dutchmen are pleased to announce, for the second season in a row, an exhibition game between the Dutchmen and the Tri-City ValleyCats of the New York Penn League. The Dutchmen compete in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, while the Minor League Baseball ValleyCats serve as the Class A Short Season affiliate of the Houston Astros.
The game will be played on Wednesday, June 15th, at Joe Bruno Stadium in Troy, New York, with first pitch scheduled for 10:00 a.m. The exhibition will serve as the ValleyCats' Third Annual Education Day.
Last season, the ValleyCats topped the Dutchmen 6-3 in front of 4,254 fans at "The Joe", in a game where the Dutchmen claimed a first inning lead before a Tri-City rally in the middle frames.
Dutchmen Vice President and General Manager Jason Brinkman said the renewal of the exhibition contest was a win-win for both the Dutchmen and the ValleyCats.
"We're excited to continue our relationship with the ValleyCats with this exhibition game," Brinkman said. "Last season's game was a great success for both clubs, and we're thrilled to partner up again for a fun day of baseball with students from across the Capital Region."
"We are excited to host our 3rd annual Education Day as the kick off to our 15th anniversary season," said Matt Callahan, ValleyCats General Manager. "This exhibition game provides unique learning opportunities for students from all across the Capital Region, all while in a fun-filled environment."
Tickets for the game will be available to the general public via tcvalleycats.com, and go on sale on Monday, April 4.
The PGCBL is affiliated with Perfect Game, the largest independent scoutig service in the country. Last year, more than 1,400 professional players had either worn the uniform of a PGCBL team or participated in a Perfect Game event.
