Ernie Clement (Cleveland Indians, ’14 Dutch): Just 2 years removed from being drafted in the 4th round by the Cleveland Indians, Clement was invited to MLB spring training and is making his presence felt. Clement recorded his first hit with the team and is 1/3 at the plate through 2 games played at shortstop. Clement finished the 2018 season with Indians’ AA MiLB affiliate, Akron Rubber Ducks, where he hit .246 in 15 games.
Cole McNamee (Wake Forest , ’18 Dutch): The two-way sophomore hit a memorable first home run of the season, belting a grand slam in a 15-5 win over Quinnipiac on Sunday. He was 1/3 with 2 walks in the game.
Tommy Miller (Siena, ’17 Dutch): The senior leader and ace of the staff, Miller picked up right where he left off after pitching a gem (recorded as a no decision) back on opening night. In his second outing and Siena’s first win of the season, a 5-0 shutout win over Stetson on Saturday, Tommy’s stat line was 6.0 IP, 8 K, 4 H, & 4 BB.
Justin Decker (Dominican, ’17 Dutch): Decker surpassed a career milestone over the weekend, recording his 200th and 201st hits. The senior infielder is hitting .351 for his career in a Chargers’ uniform and is 27 hits away from breaking the school’s all-time hit record.
Brandon Seltzer (Palm Beach Atlantic, ’18 Dutch): With the DII season already in full swing, Seltzer is clicking on all cylinders through the Sailfish’s first 12 games. Over that span, he has reached base safely in every game while recording a .362 BA (17/47).
