Adam Zebrowski wins Week Two Player of the Week Sponsored by CDSF.
Adam Zebrowski (St. John Fisher) has been named the Player of the Week sponsored by CDSF. Zebrowski is on a tear in 2021 as he is batting .556 with 4 doubles, 3 home runs, and 9 RBIs in 18 at bats across six games for the Dutchmen. Zebrowski batted .583 (7-12) with 3 doubles, 2 home runs and 6 RBIs in three games on the week ending 6/20/21. Zebrowski was the Division III Player of the Year in 2021 at St. John Fisher, where he hit a D3 leading 20 home runs to go with a .500 batting average which was good for second in D3. Zebrowski has carried that hot bat into this summer by trusting his approach at the plate.
“I haven’t changed anything, it’s staying true to why I had success at school and keeping that same mentality and not changing anything just because it’s a step up in competition,” Zebrowski said.
Zebrowski does not try to overdo or over think in the box, as his confidence in his work ethic and his swing has led him to an abundance of success since St. John Fisher started their season back on March 9th, 2021.
“Keeping my swing very simple has helped me, last summer I had a little bit of trouble with being too mechanical and too complex, this year I’ve been keeping it simple and not trying to do too much,” Zebrowski said.
Albany is currently on a four game winning streak, thanks in large part to Zebrowski who has homered in each of the two games in the win streak that he’s played in. Zebrowski tries to help his team every day his name is in the lineup.
“I’m focusing on what I can do to help the team win and put up runs as well as priding myself on defense. I wouldn’t say I feel the pressure because I’m confident in my abilities and stay true to myself and trusting in the work I put in. The results speak for themselves a lot of the time,” Zebrowski said.
Zebrowski’s goals for this summer are mainly power oriented, as he has high expectations of himself when it comes to the long ball.
“I would like to lead the leagues in home runs, but my goal every year is to have more home runs than strikeouts,” Zebrowski said.
Head Coach Nick Davey spoke very highly of Zebrowski, and how much the local CBA product makes his lineup better.
“Adam is hands down one of the biggest presences in a Dutchmen lineup that we’ve ever had,” Davey said.
Zebrowski looks to continue his hot streak and help the Dutchmen expand their four game win streak Monday, June 21st at Oneonta at 7:05, and Tuesday, June 22nd at home against Glens Falls slated for a 6:35 first pitch.
