Brody Keneston, Dutchmen catcher and infielder hailing from Ballston Spa and Le Moyne College, has been selected as the Week #3 Spotlight Player of the Week presented by Bellini’s Counter.
From June 12th to 18th, Keneston has been a leading force for the Dutchmen offense as he has hit for an average of .385, managed an on base percentage of .429, and has collected 4 RBIs. On Thursday’s win at Saugerties, Keneston served as a major part of the offense with two hits and two RBIs. This ignited the Dutchmen offense to comeback from an 8-1 deficit and win 9-8.
“I’ve been feeling pretty comfortable at the plate. Right now I’ve just been trying to stay in my routine. The chemistry on the team is great,” stated Keneston during a post-game interview in which he was all-smiles and seen giggling with teammates.
Keneston was again a main contributor to the Dutchmen offense this past Saturday where he hit from the cleanup spot and collected 2 RBIs in a late comeback push against the Utica Blue Sox. After this week’s hard-fought games Keneston said, “We’ve been playing with a bit of a chip on our shoulders” and is optimistic that the Dutchmen can return to winning form.
