Adam Young (UC-Davis): 2012 Dutchmen Adam Young is off to a sizzling start to his senior season. Young helped the Aggies to a 3-1 record over the weekend, going 6/15 at the plate. However, Young’s performance has been even better over the course of the season. Through 15 games, Young leads the team with a .452 batting average with 14 hits in 31 at bats.
Mike Triller (Clemson): On Friday, 2012 Dutchmen Mike Triller made his first start of the season for 19th ranked Clemson in a 7-6 win over Virginia Tech. Triller scored 2 runs, stole 2 bases, and picked up a hit in the first game of a 3 game series sweep of the Hokies in which he saw action in all 3 games. Triller is 5/10 at the plate on the young season for a .500 batting average.
Chris Bianchi (Trinity): Trinity University (Texas) has been nearly unbeatable this season; they currently hold an 11 game winning streak and are 15-1 on the season. As their starting catcher, 2013 Dutchmen Chris Bianchi has been a critical part of the Tigers’ success. He has recorded 15 hits in 48 at bats for a .313 average, including 2 home runs.
Zach Remillard (Coastal Carolina): Two-time Dutchmen (2012 & 2013) Zach Remillard came up big in Sunday’s 13-4 win over Elon. Remillard was 3/5 at the plate, driving in 2 runs while scoring 2 of his own. Remillard has started all 14 of the Chanticleers’ games, hitting for a .294 average and collecting 12 RBI.
Thomas Belcher (Indiana): 2013 Dutchmen Thomas Belcher made his first 2 appearances of the year for 26th ranked Indiana in 2 wins against Jacksonville over the weekend. On Saturday, he came in to close out the final inning of a 9-2 win, recording 1 strikeout and allowing only 1 hit. Belcher came on to pitch in a much closer affair on Sunday, throwing 1.2 innings of relief in a 7-6 victory, allowing 1 run and scattering 3 hits.
