Thomas Belcher (Indiana): 2013 Dutchmen pitcher Thomas Belcher made a relief appearance in the Championship Game of the Big Ten Conference Tournament. He allowed only one hit in 1.1 innings out of the bullpen as the #8 Hoosiers defeated Nebraska 8-4 to claim their second straight conference championship. In 13 appearances, Belcher is 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA. Indiana plays Youngstown State on May 30th in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Trevor Lacosse (Bryant): 2012 Dutchmen pitcher Trevor Lacosse notched his fourth victory of the season in Bryant's 6-2, 12-inning win against Sacred Heart in the Northeast Conference Championship. Lacosse surrendered two hits, no runs, and struck out four in 4.1 innings of relief. The left-handed junior from Watervliet, NY has four wins to go along with eight saves and a 2.94 ERA. Bryant battles Houston on May 30th in the NCAA Tournament.
Chris Amorosi (Siena): Recently signed pitcher Chris Amorosi scattered five hits and no runs through 4.1 innings to lead the Saints to a narrow 6-5 victory against Canisius. Siena went on to win the MAAC Championship and earned a trip to Texas to face Texas Christian University in the NCAA Tournament. Amorosi is currently 2-0 with a 4.58 ERA.
Ryan Welke & Morgan Phillips (College of Charleston): Ryan Welke and Morgan Phillips, two former Dutchmen players, are also heading to the NCAA tournament. The Cougars topped William & Mary 6-4 in the Colonial Athletic Conference Championship. Welke recorded a hit, while Phillips brought a run home with a sacrifice fly. A .255 batter, Welke has 4 HR and 17 RBI. Phillips is a .251 hitter, with 2 HR and 24 RBI. The Cougars face Florida on May 30th in the NCAA Tournament.
Will Remillard (Chicago Cubs): Two-time Dutchmen Will Remillard continues to impress for Cubs' Class A affiliate, Kane County Cougars. He leads the team with a .330 batting average and is second with 25 RBI. He also has thirteen extra-base hits, including one home run, and a slugging percentage of .472.
