The Albany Dutchmen Spotlight Player of the Week has been given to the entire Dutchmen bullpen for Week #4, the week of June 22-28.
The relief staff of the Dutchmen played a major part in the team this week. As a unit, they went 1-2 within the past week, with a pair of saves of well. The bullpen, in six games, pitched 21.2 innings, allowed 23 hits, struck out 26 while only allowing five earned runs.
In terms of the ratio of their performance, the bullpen had a 2.12 ERA for the week, while having a superb 11 strikeouts per 9 innings.
Leading the way for the Dutchmen bullpen were Nate Harris (Louisiana Tech University), Joe Pokrentowski (College of Saint Rose) and Drew Robertson (Baylor University).
Harris, who threw 3.2 innings pitched within the past week, struck out four batters while allowing only three hits and no earned runs.
Joe Pokrentowski, who is tied for the team lead in wins (3), despite coming out of the bullpen, went three innings and struck out five batters while only surrendering a single earned run.
Drew Robertson, who led the bullpen staff with four innings pitched in the past week, did allow five hits, but only allowed one earned run and struck out three.
Along with those three, other key contributors to the bullpen have been Jeff Rivera (University of Cumberlands) with three innings pitched in two appearances while not allowing a single hit or run, while striking out two.
Jackson Bubala (Dartmouth College) appeared in the Dutchmen’s 4-2 win over the Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs on June 25, also not allowing a single hit or run, striking out three of the four batters he faced.
Jack Owens (Bryant University) in two appearances went 1.2 innings, without allowing a single hit or run while striking out half of the batters he faced, four of eight.
