Monday, July 12th (Oneonta, NY)-- Albany Dutchmen fell to the Oneonta Outlaws 5-4 on a walk off single by Ryan Weiss (Oswego) in the 9th, as the Dutchmen six game win streak came to an end.
Oneonta got off to an early lead, scoring three runs in the first frame. Paul Tammaro (Oswego) singled to lead off the home half of the first and quickly scored as the next batter AJ Giach (Yale) hit a two run home run. Yuzuki Okamura (Herkimer) walked with the bases loaded which brought in Reilly Hall (Coker) for the third and final run of the frame.
In the fourth, Oneonta added on to their lead on a Mario Demera (San Francisco) double that scored Yuzuki Okamura (Herkimer) to extend the Oneonta lead to 4-0.
Marcus Cashman (Niagara) kept the Dutchmen at bay in his five innings of work, allowing one hit while not allowing a run to cross.
Albany attacked the Oneonta bullpen, scoring a run in both the sixth and seventh inning. In the sixth Adam Zebrowski (St. John Fisher) singled in Evan Fox (Stony Brook), and in the seventh Ty Gallagher (Herkimer) doubled in Isaac Humphrey (Louisville) to cut it to a two run game.
The Dutchmen tied the game in the form of a two out rally in the ninth inning. Christian Kondo (Stetson) singled, Isaac Humphrey (Louisville) doubled, and Ty Gallagher (Herkimer) drove in both of them on a 2 RBI single to tie the game at 4-4.
Ryan Weiss (Oswego) walked it off on an RBI single that scored Keoni Coloma (Saint Mary’s) to give Oneonta a 5-4 victory.
Albany returns to action for a doubleheader at Saugerties beginning at 5:00 on Tuesday, July 13th, and the Dutchmen return home Friday, July 16th for another 5:00 doubleheader against Saugerites.
