Dutchmen win 6-3 in back and forth battle.
(GLENS FALLS, NY)-- Albany Dutchmen defeated Glens Falls Dragons by a score of 6-3 in a back and forth battle on Wednesday night in Glens Falls.
Tristan Nemjo (Hofstra) picked up the first RBI of the day on a sacrifice fly that scored Nick Schwartz (St. John’s) in the top of the second inning.
Glens Falls responded in the home half of the frame on a Cole Durkan (Stony Brook) double that plated Colby Brouilette (Clarkson).
Quinn McDaniel (Maine) put Glens Falls ahead as the first batter of the fourth inning on a solo home run.
Albany tied it in the top of the fifth inning when Tristan Nemjo (Hofstra) picked up his second RBI of the day on a single that scored Christian Kondo (Stetson) who had two doubles on the day.
Glens Falls retook the lead in the bottom of the 5th on an Evan Keegan (Castleton) single that scored Michael Gorman (Iona) to make it a 3-2 ballgame.
Michael DiMartino (Fairleigh Dickinson) was lights out coming out of the bullpen, he threw three shutout innings while allowing just one hit and got all nine outs via the strikeout.
Ryan McGee (Siena) scored on a wild pitch in the top of the eighth inning to tie the game after picking up a pinch hit double.
Albany took the lead in a huge three run ninth inning in which five batters reached before the first out was recorded. Nick Schwartz (St. John’s) singled in Will Stroud (Azusa Pacific) for his third hit of the night, Tom Kretzler (Brockport), and Schwartz scored on a Ryan McGee (Siena) sacrifice fly.
Albany plays their final game of the season on Thursday, July 29th at 6:35 in Amsterdam.
