(ALBANY, NY) – The third group of Albany Dutchmen player announcements for the 2022 season features a couple of Division I talent who call the Capital Region home. Anthony Raimo (Rhode Island) is an Albany native, and graduated from CBA, while Dan Rogers (Rutgers) joins the Dutchmen by way of Troy and hometown Troy High School.
Anthony Raimo is a junior first baseman/outfielder in his first year at the University of Rhode Island. Raimo has played in 15 of the Rams 18 games this season, and has seen immediate playing time after transferring in from Herkimer County Community College. In 2021 at Herkimer, Raimo was named to First Team All-American NJCAA Division III, in a season he batted .402 with seven home runs, 46 RBIs and a .544 OBP.
Dan Rogers is a freshman infielder on a 14-5 Rutgers team that currently sits 3rd in the Big Ten. Rogers played four years of varsity at Troy High, including a Section 2 Championship as a senior in 2021. Rogers played his travel ball in the same area, as he is a product of nine years with the South Troy Dodgers.
