(AMSTERDAM, NY)-- Coming into Tuesday night’s game at Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam, the last time the Albany Dutchmen were no-hit was on July 11th, 2012.
11 years ago to the day, that changed.
The Dutchmen were held hitless Tuesday night in Amsterdam, falling 12-0 to the first place Mohawks.
Vince Venditti (Saint Rose) broke up the perfect game, drawing a four-pitch walk to lead off the fourth inning. Anderson Moreno (SNHU) and Josh Foglia (Saint Rose) would draw walks in the fifth and six innings, and Anthony Paskell (Rider) would reach on a fielder’s choice in the sixth to account as the only Dutchmen baserunners on the evening.
Dutchmen starter Danny Iglesias (St. Thomas) would be solid in the start, going three innings, allowing two hits, two runs (one earned) and three walks while striking out one.
Albany will look to turn things around Wednesday, as they host the Saugerties Stallions at Dutchmen Field. First pitch is set for 6:35. The game will be broadcast live on the Albany Dutchmen’s Facebook page.
