The 2014 Pink Game.
The Albany Dutchmen of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League have announced their 2016 promotional schedule, headlined by four major giveaways and two raffles. The Dutchmen begin the PGCBL season on June 1 at Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam, and begin the home slate the next night against the rival Glens Falls Dragons. The Dutchmen will celebrate opening night with special promotions and giveaways throughout the game.
The second home game is also the first major giveaway of the season. On June 3, the first 500 fans inside the Plumeri Sports Complex will receive a Dutchmen magnet schedule courtesy of AAA Hudson Valley.
The June 5 ballgame with the Saugerties Stallions is the team's annual Muscular Dystrophy Association fundraiser. A huge raffle will accompany the event, and will include a slew of great items available to be won.
June 11's game against the Amsterdam Mohawks is Sanavi Water Night, where all fans will receive free Sanavi Water. The following night, the Dutchmen will give away team solo cups to the first 250 fans in attendance. The solo cup giveaway is presented by Albany Clothing and Promotions.
SEFCU Hometown Heroes Night, which honors military, police, fire, and EMT personnel, takes place on June 23. The next two games are also major giveaway days. On June 25, the first 250 kids into the park will be given a Dutchmen drawstring backpack thanks to CDTA. Kids will also get in free on that night. The next night is Northeast Commercial Printing Giveaway Night, where 250 fans will receive a team poster. A postgame autograph session will accompany the promotion.
Canines will be welcome in the stadium on July 5 for Bark in the Park. The Dutchmen will raise money this season for Multiple Sclerosis by holding a walk and fundraiser on July 9.
One of the season's most anticipated promotions takes place on July 16. The Sixth Annual Pink Game for American Cancer Society and Susan G. Komen will see the Dutchmen wearing pink jerseys that are auctioned off during the game. The game will also feature a huge fundraising raffle. The Pink Game is followed by Phillips Hardware Night on July 23.
The season ends with the Spotlight Newspaper Player of the Week Awards Night on July 29, and Fan Appreciation and Host Family Recognition Night on July 30. Before the home finale, the 2016 Player and Pitcher will be honored by Recognize Awards.
This season will also feature the second edition of the Subway Summer Series between the Dutchmen and Glens Falls Dragons, played over the span of nine games.
Daily Dutchmen promotions include the Price Chopper $10,000 Pitch, where a lucky fan will get the opportunity to throw a pitch from the mound with a chance to win $10,000. The promotion will be altered this year, making it easier for fans to win. The target has been made larger, and any fan that throws the ball through the target will win $100. They will then be given a set of prize envelopes, and if the fan correctly selects three of the ten envelopes, they win $10,000.
Fans will also partake in the Budweiser K Man promotion, which will provide 2-for-1 drinks when a selected hitter strikes out.
The Dutchmen will also hold promotions corresponding to each day of the week. All Monday home games will allow kids to eat free with paid admission, while Thursday home games will feature the ever-popular All You Can Eat for $10 promotion. Saturdays will be Baseball Bingo Nights, as fans can fill out bingo cards connected with the action on the field to win prizes. Sundays at Bellizzi Field are Family Fundays, where four tickets and four food vouchers will cost $14. Kids will also be given the opportunity to run the bases after the games. There will be frequently rotating concession offerings.
The team will again host AAA Hudson Valley Baseball Buddies for local youth teams. More information on the program is available at dutchmenbaseball.com/schedule/youth.
