The final regular season game of the 2016 season has been rained out.
The Sunday night match between the Albany Dutchmen (28-20) and the Amsterdam Mohawks (34-15) has been cancelled due to the rain earlier in the day soaked the outfield grass at Shuttleworth Park and the weather forecast showed more rain scheduled for the evening.
The cancelled meeting concludes the regular season for both teams, as both squads prepare for the playoffs scheduled to begin Monday when both teams host their respective one-game playoffs as the one and two seeds. More rain in the forecast could however push the beginning of the postseason back to Tuesday.
Albany will host the #3 seed Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs at Bellizzi Field on Monday at 7:05, looking to avenge the loss to the DiamondDawgs in the first round of last year’s playoffs.
