With the beginning of the 2017 Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League season just days away, the Albany Dutchmen are excited to announce their promotional schedule for the upcoming campaign in the Dutchmen’s first season at Siena College Ballpark. The Dutchmen are also thrilled to feature a new relationship with C.H. Evans Brewing Co., who will partner with the Dutchmen to offer the C.H. Evans Brewing Beer Garden at all Dutchmen home games. New and exciting announcements include the Hudson’s Crew Music Series, new seating options, and a promotional calendar riddled with giveaways!
The 2017 season will be the first for the Dutchmen at Siena Field on the campus of Siena College in Loudonville. And with a new field, comes new ballpark operation standards. Games will begin at 5:00 PM, and gates will open nightly at 4:00. Seating will be on a first come, first serve basis. The seating at Siena Field includes chair back seating directly behind home plate, with bleacher seating filling in the rest of the accommodations between the dugouts. Picnic style seating will be down the third base line, as fans are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets. Down the first base line will be the C.H. Evans Brewing Beer Garden with picnic tables for all to watch the game (seating for all ages, 21+ for beer). Tickets for adults are $5, while students 13 & older and seasoned adults 60 & wiser will be $4. Youth tickets for those 5-12 years old are $3, while kids four and under get in free.
After the Dutchmen begin their season on the road June 2nd in Glens Falls, they will begin their home slate the next night when they face the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs. The Dutchmen will celebrate their first ever game at Siena Field and the beginning of a brand new season with a slew of special promotions and giveaways throughout the game. Hudson’s Crew will be on hand beginning at 4:00 to perform throughout the game, their first in a series of four concerts throughout the summer. Local favorite Emack & Bolio’s will have an ice cream truck at the game, their first of three dates during the course of the season. Also, fans will be able to participate in Baseball Bingo, as those who purchase a program will have a chance to play along throughout the game to win a pair of Dutchmen season tickets, among other great prizes. The Dutchmen will be home for five of the next six games following the Home Opener, and will have a special promotion each night, highlighted by Cabot Cheese Giveaway Night on Sunday, June 4th, State Worker’s Night on Thursday, June 8th and Siena College Night on Friday the 9th.
Following a busy first nine days of the season that include six home games, the Dutchmen return home June 11th to face the Adirondack Trail Blazers on SEFCU Hometown Heroes Night, a special night where the Dutchmen will honor our first responders and those who have served our nation in the military. All fans in attendance will receive a free baseball poncho and all Heroes and their families will receive free game admission courtesy of SEFCU.
After a day off and back-to-back games on the road, the Dutchmen will return to the Siena College campus on the 15th for NYSPHSAA High School Student Athlete Night, where the Dutchmen will honor local high school student athletes from throughout the region. Two nights later, the Dutchmen will host Special Olympics New York Night in conjunction with Special Olympics New York to help celebrate the Olympics first return to the Capital Region in a decade, as the Olympics will be hosted by Siena College that weekend.
On the 20th, the Dutchmen will host fan favorite Bacon Night, and will celebrate the Town of Colonie the next night to commemorate the team’s arrival to the area. The Dutchmen wrap up the week at home on the 24th for C.H. Evans Brewing Night, where the Dutchmen will celebrate their new partnership with a special tasting night. The next evening the Dutchmen will host CDTA Kids in Free Night, where kids will receive giveaways during the ballgame and can stop by the Stewart’s Ice Cream stand at the game. The first 100 kids will also receive free batting cage tokens to All Stars Academy, the official indoor practice facility of the Dutchmen
One of the biggest events of the year for the Dutchmen begins the second week of July, as the Dutchmen will host the 7th Annual Pink Game. The hosts will wear special pink uniforms, which will be auctioned off throughout the game accompanied by a huge raffle- all to benefit the American Cancer Society and Susan G. Komen in the battle against breast cancer. A few nights later, the Dutchmen will host Teacher Recognition Night on the 12th to honor our local educators during the evening. To wrap up that week, the Dutchmen will have a team poster giveaway courtesy of Northeast Commercial Printing on the 15th, while a team cup giveaway occurs the next night, thanks to Albany Clothing & Promotions.
The day after the league’s annual All-Star Game on the 18th, the Dutchmen will leave it up to the fans to pick the promotion via social media for that night. Two nights later, the Dutchmen host Albany Pump Station Night, the home of C.H. Evans Brewing Co.
In the final week of the regular season, the Dutchmen will honor those that make it all possible, the fans and host families, on the 29th, as the team will celebrate what is sure to be a memorable 2017 season.
Everyday promotions and events happening at the ballpark this summer include the lucky program giveaways each and every night, and the Baseball Buddy Program sponsored by Phillips Hardware. A fan favorite promotion returning this season is the Budweiser K Man, which will give fans 2-for-1 drinks through the end of the inning when a selected opposing hitter strikes out.
Promotions corresponding to the day of the week this season include $2 tickets and freebies for Seasoned Adults (60+) on Wednesdays, Baseball Bingo and CSEA Saturday’s on Saturdays, and Family Funday on Sundays, where four tickets and four hot dogs will be only $14, paired with Local Neighborhood Nights. The Dave & Buster’s Street Team will also spend Saturday and Sunday nights with the Dutchmen.
To get to the new ballpark, Dutchmen fans will turn off of Loudon Road onto the main entrance getting into the campus. Once you enter campus, there will be signage pointing you to Siena College Ballpark. All those attending games will be instructed to park in Lot G, between the Morrell Science Center and the Haas Plant Operations Building. Fans will not be allowed to park or enter the ballpark via Turchi Road off of Spring Street Road.
